Training of Teachers on Promoting Media Literacy 

Through a series of five, day-long, in-person guest speaker trainings led by U.S.-based Media Literacy program expert, in spring of 2024 American Councils will engage 40 middle and high school teachers of English from various parts of Bosnia and Herzegovina and enable them to counter disinformation and teach media literacy skills to their students.

This program is funded by the U.S. Embassy’s the U.S. Speaker and Specialist Grants Program that supports NGO and academic institution efforts to connect U.S. experts with audiences and institutions in Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) to organize visits to BiH focused on topics related to the rule of law, anti-corruption, promoting citizen political participation, promoting civil society, modernizing education, entrepreneurship, investigative journalism, countering disinformation, media literacy, countering gender-based violence, supporting vulnerable populations, and countering violent extremism. The U.S. Speaker and Specialist Grants Program brings American experts to Bosnia and Herzegovina to engage audiences through lectures, workshops, and seminars; through appearances in foreign media; and in a consultancy capacity.
